The Winter of Soul festival is a celebration of the rich, diverse heritage of Black culture. Through a range of artistic performances, exhibitions, workshops, and seminars, we aim to educate, inspire, and empower individuals from the community
The main purpose of the association Winter of Soul is to promote and highlight black culture and art through the organization of an annual festival in Bergen. The central goals of the festival are to achieve cultural understanding through dialogue, challenge stereotypical perceptions and strengthen voices that have been underrepresented throughout history.
We want to put black experiences in perspective in the Norwegian context through an engaging and thought-provoking program structure that contributes to increased knowledge and insight into black culture and art, as well as to create an inclusive space for reflection and debate on important social issues.
With these goals, Winter of Soul will contribute to fostering a more just and equal society, where diversity and cultural enrichment are recognized, valued and celebrated
