Foredrag og filmvisning: Oppreisning, apartheid og Sør-Afrika

I foredraget Oppreisning, gjenopprettende rettferdighet og Ser-Afrika etter apartheid utforsker forsteamanuensis Nafeesa Tarajee Nichols hvordan sorafrikansk litteratur etter 1994 skildrer livet etter apartheid. Med utgangspunkt i nyere litteratur retter hun sekelyset mot sporsmäl om rettferdighet, frigioring og samfunnsendring. Etter foredraget vises filmen African Jim / Jim Goes to Jo'burg (1949), regissert av Donald Swanson. Arrangementet avsluttes med en panelsamtale med kulturprodusent og kurator Emilie Fanor-Fontaine, ledet av aktivist, skribent og jusstudent Anine Fatou Bräten.

In the lecture Redress, Restorative Justice, and Post-Apartheid South Africa, Associate Professor Nafeesa Tarajee Nichols explores how post-1994 South African literature depicts life after apartheid. Drawing on recent literature, she focuses on questions of justice, liberation, and social change. Following the lecture, the film African Jim / Jim Goes to Jo'burg (1949), directed by Donald Swanson, will be screened. The event concludes with a panel discussion featuring cultural producer and curator Emilie Fanor-Fontaine, moderated by activist, writer, and law student Anine Fatou Bråten.
